Chief highlights!!The first edition of the Annual Global Convention was held on December 5th and 6th 2015 in New Delhi in India. The event was attended by over 300 people from around the world,
including entrepreneurs, professionals, investors, academics, media, governmental personalities and other reputed organizations. The chief guest of AGC2015 was Mr Amitabh Kant; Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion. The man behind Incredible India, Make in India and now StartupIndia StandupIndia campaigns which has pulled immense global attention. What exactly happened during AGC2015It was an exceptional 24-hour non-stop event and was held at the Kempinski Ambience Hotel Delhi. A rich program composed of panels, presentations, pitches, competitions, musical and artistic breaks and an opportunity for networking and discussing business. An international event, a very professional team, international investors scale, startups, more than 105 city mayors from different countries ... have made the Annual Global Convention of the Entrepreneur Café, the largest community for entrepreneurs in the world.
The event was spread of highlighting the issues which directly impact startups. Topics like finding partners addressed by Sid Burback and Jim Vance , IC2, University of Texas at Austin. Legal Formalities and IPR by Ambalika Banerjee and Prince Pawaiyaa from Anand & Anand, most reputed legal firm in Northern India. How to leverage social media by Shantanu Gupta, the man behind social media of Patanjali. Innovative Marketing Hacks by Vartika Manasvi, Nasscom 10k Startups and HR Strategies for Startups by Mekin Maheshwari, Chief People Officer, Flipkart. The second part of the event was famous #GetMeMoneyHoney where startups learned how to improve valuation by Anurag Saxena, Founder, Linkcoz and Startupbuilder. How to create Business Plan from Investor’s perspective from Naveen Asrani, Director, Microsoft Ventures and how to raise investments via crowdfunding from Manish Harodia of DreamWallets. That’s not it, its been a long day and we understood that it gets monotonous to sit across and gather every possible knowledge from the experts so we did something unique which did #ShakeYourBooty. A 10 minute dance session by Kshitij Vaishnav from Dance Station who took the participant by storm. The next session was brutal and exciting at the same time, time for startups to pitch in front of a panel of investors. The theme was #SharkTank and the sharks were Rajiv Vaishnav; Head, Reliance GenNext Ventures, Naveen Asrani, Microsoft Ventures, Sanjay Enishetty; Founder, 50K Ventures, Vikram Duggal; Unitus Seed Fund. The session was moderated by : Dr Siddharth Singh, Professor, Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad. The startups were from various parts of the country and after an exciting 60 minutes session, the winner was Rahul Rastogi from Agatsya. Now, the time is for the much awaited mixer party where startups, investors, experts, academicians and entrepreneurs came to a common floor and network with each other for more than 3 hours. Most of them stayed back to network beyond hours . |
The next morning, Dec 6th was started with world famous sitarist, Surmani Anupama Bhagwat. The next day event was inaugurated by Gen VK Singh (Retd), Union Minister of External Affairs. Followed by #PowerBreakfast session where CEOs, investors, experts and policy makers and entrepreneurs discussed on growth strategies. This session was lead by Dr Sunil Rai, VC @ Kaziranga University and the speakers were Mr Nirankar Saxena; Senior Director @ FICCI, Ms Laxmi Potluri; Angel investor and Co-founder @ Jabong, Mr Banesh Prabhu; Ex COO Citi Bank International, Mr Yogesh Andlay, Founder Nucleus Software and Polaris Software, Ms Anu Peshawaria, Noted Lawyer and Dr Sunil Gupta, Executive Director @ PNB. This session followed by India International Growth Program (IIGP) and the speakers were Mr Nirankar Sexena and Vishal Khanna from FICCI.
This session was followed by International get-together and another networking session over lunch and we bid goodbye to our esteemed guests, delegates, speakers and city mayors till we meet again. |
